This is our launch version of first1k, with the aim of making this the largest and most useful repository of launch strategies and inspirations 🚀💯 The product will continue to improve and expand in the future. As a first step, we will release our weekly newsletters providing launch inspirations and product updates.
Future iterations would include:
* Adding greater resources.
* Allowing users to add resources.
* Ability to search.
* Tagging each resource upon categories e.g. product, growth, marketing etc.
And so on. But needless to say, we will only go upwards and onwards from here 🚀.

I'm particularly interested in the future plans to add the ability to search, especially if you can leverage the latest advances in AI so that the search is contextual and the presented search results are as relevant as possible :).

Before launching any product, we always feel the need to smoke test, to understand whether the problem actually exists or not. People conduct this smoke test in multiple ways, one of which is through waitlists. Any time we decided to make a waitlist for a product, we had to do a lot of research to see what kind of landing pages and waitlists were out there to ensure we didn’t make mistakes owing to a lack of research. It is also very important to see what the first version of anything was like before it iterated to become what it is today. Going through origin stories serves, not just as an inspiration, but also as a motivation for the ones launching. MVPs, launch strategies, and waitlists, all serve as means to a perfect launch.
❓Why?
After having done this multiple times, we recognized a gap in the market. We realized that if there was a directory where all the top-class waitlists, launch case studies, and origin stories were in one place, it would make the research process a lot smoother, and a lot less time-consuming. So we came up with first1K.

It’s always interesting to see what these tech giants, who rule the world today, like Google, Amazon, Adobe, and Microsoft Windows, were like when they first started. What did the MVPs of these legendary companies look like? What did they start as?
With first1K you get to explore interesting things like:
Twitter was named Twttr and was an internal service for Odeo employees. Basically, what we see Twitter as today, was *not* how it was started!

We saw that it was difficult to search MVPs or design inspirations of the first versions of popular companies around the globe. They also did not exist on a single platform. Moreover, waitlist is an important testing method to validate a product hypothesis, but almost no repository existed for its inspirations. Thus, we compiled all these resources in a all-in-one platform that provides launch strategies, waitlist ideas, and origin stories of successful companies. Founders and product builders can gain inspiration and also add them to their favorites.
