Finoyou is a comprehensive finance management app designed to help individuals take control of their finances. With its user-friendly interface and powerful features, users can easily track their expenses, create budgets, and plan for the future.

So I checked this out because I actually am in the market for a nice budgeting and expense tracking app. I have tried Mint , YNAB, Pocketguard, and everydollar. All found lacking in a way that made them less than ideal (for YNAB it was just too expensive , $14.99*/month for people trying to cut netflix and spotify to save money this app eats it back up again). Okay so I downloaded Finoyou, and you are first greeted by a screen that you cant get past and isn't clear what if any options you have. it APPEARS (I am guessing here) that before you continue it wants you to create some kind of account, but it doesnt say that anywhere. there is no options for creating an account, all they have is a "Continue with Google" . so if you dont have a google account , or don't want to share your personal one you want to share your data , then you have to go create one. Which is actually a long process now and depending on where you are might require a phone number that is not linked to an existing account. This is a weird barrier to entry. I love single sign on and as a dev know the advantage of using 3rd party 0Auth , but people need more than one option. Additionally, no where on the landing page does it say you need a google account to use this app. so comes as a surprise to users. I will bite this bullet and connect it to my google account to review it better, but this might be a deal breaker for me. okay so first thing to know once you are in, you can not create a budget with this app out of the box. creating a budget requires you to "Go Pro" , something that is not mentioned on the website at all. They also say if you refer 2 friends who also have google accounts they want to share you can get Pro for free. I am curious how much Pro costs but could not find that information but by clicking a button to try and find that info, it just unlocked Pro. I am assuming Pro is free right now? but it never said that in the app, and for half a second I was worried I was charged for something without my consent. obviously lots of currencies exist but there is nothing in settings to pick your currency of choice. while in settings I notice I can link my Instagram account and my facebook account , curious that none of these were options for creating an account one thing to note, and this is NOT a bad thing and not a criticism at all, regional apps serve a really important role, but for anyone thinking of trying the app, the top banks in Europe are not supported, and as far as I can tell no American banks are supported. Thankfully there is a delete account button. TL/DR: this app is very early, v 0.0.7 , is a really nice start to something that could be great. lots of promise but is not yet ready for production and daily use in real world.
