A beautiful, highly customizable macOS app that displays rich file information when hovering over files in Finder, similar to Windows file preview behavior. - KoukeNeko/FinderHover

Hey Product Hunt! My inspiration for FinderHover came from one simple, frustrating action: pressing Cmd+I.
As a Mac user, I was tired of constantly opening (and closing) the "Get Info" panel just to see basic metadata. If I wanted to compare five files, I'd have to manage five floating windows. It's clunky, slow, and completely breaks your workflow.
I wanted to solve the Cmd+I problem.
This project evolved from just showing size and dates to becoming the "Get Info" panel I always wished macOS had—one that's instant, powerful, and automatic. It now parses deep metadata you'd normally have to dig for:
For developers: Instantly see the programming language, total lines, and even code vs. comment line counts just by hovering over a .swift or .py file.
For photographers: Get instant EXIF data like camera model, lens, and aperture without opening a single window.
For video editors: Instantly check the video codec, resolution, and bitrate.
It also handles fonts, disk images, subtitles, and much more.
It's fully customizable, so you see exactly what you need, and it disappears when you don't. I'd love to hear what you all think!
