Hi Product Hunt ā I'm the indie developer behind Filmine, a darkroom for Live Photos on iPhone.
A Live Photo contains a still image and a short video. Filmine applies the edit to both, then exports a new Live Photo that keeps its motion and sound. The original stays unchanged.
There are 13 film looks, five portrait presets, and ten frame styles alongside the unframed original. All film and portrait tools are free. Unframed, Polara and Signature exports are also free; eight additional frames unlock through a yearly subscription or a lifetime purchase.
The difficult part of building it was preserving the still/video pairing and keeping the rendering consistent across the two. AI coding tools helped with implementation; exported-file checks and playback on a physical iPhone were still part of validation.
Editing runs on your device. No Filmine account, photo upload or analytics. iPhone with iOS 18 or later; currently distributed outside the EU.
I'd like feedback on the editing flow, whether the product page makes the motion preservation clear, and which frame or film look you would use.
