Fika

Fika, in Swedish, describes the ritual of sharing good coffee and conversation with someone. In Sweden, many consider it an essential part of their day and carve out time to connect with friends, colleagues, mentors, and collaborators. No, we’re not Swedish - but we are a team of designers that know how valuable learning from, and collaborating with, other creatives can be. In an increasingly digital-first world, it’s not news to anyone that face-to-face interaction is going the way of the Dodo. “Connections” are made behind a screen. Work can be completed on your couch or by the beach. We believe a crucial part of the creative process is lost along the way. Making time to meet with a mentor, client, or creative we admire has opened new doors, taught us skills, and provided inspiration countless times. Often, those people we first met over a simple cup of coffee, a Fika, have blossomed into our most fruitful professional relationships. We wouldn’t be the designers we are without those interactions. We’ve often wished there was an easy way to find a cool musician or printmaker nearby and invite them to coffee. So we created it. If you, too, find yourself scrolling your various feeds asking yourself ‘How did they make that?’ or saying ‘Woah, I wish I could work with this person’ - we made Fika for you.
