Hey everyone — I'm Troy, the solo builder behind Fieldr.
I'm a data analyst by trade. I've spent years writing SQL, building reports in Power BI, and working with location data in spreadsheets. The pattern was always the same: export a CSV, manually assign accounts to territories by ZIP code, build a static map in PowerPoint, and pray nobody asks "what if we moved this boundary?"
Every territory change meant rebuilding everything from scratch. The tools that could do it properly were $50-100K/year enterprise GIS platforms built for specialists, not business teams.
I wanted something that worked the way I already think about data: upload a file, draw shapes, see the numbers. If I drag a boundary, the metrics should just update. If two territories overlap, tell me automatically. If I need a report, one click.
So I built it.
Fieldr is vanilla JavaScript — no framework, no build step. Leaflet for maps, Turf.js for spatial math, everything runs in the browser. Your data never leaves your device.
The hardest part wasn't the spatial engine — it was making it feel simple. Point-in-polygon calculations, overlap detection, drive-time isochrones, SQL querying — all of that complexity has to disappear behind "draw a shape, see your data."
