Fibi was born out of a recurring challenge we observed across research institutions, while research itself continues to evolve rapidly, the administrative systems supporting it remain fragmented, manual, and inefficient. Administrators were forced to rely on spreadsheets, emails, and disconnected tools to manage complex grant lifecycles, leading to delays, errors, and missed opportunities. This gap between innovation in research and outdated administrative processes inspired us to build a solution that truly supports the people behind research. At its core, Fibi was designed to address three critical problems: fragmented systems, time-consuming manual workflows, and a lack of real-time visibility and collaboration. Managing proposals, compliance, budgeting, and reporting often required repetitive effort and constant follow-ups. We wanted to bring all these processes into a unified platform that not only simplifies operations but also improves accuracy, transparency, and coordination across teams. Our journey began with the idea of digitizing existing workflows, but we quickly realized that digitization alone wasn’t enough. Instead of replicating inefficiencies, we shifted our focus toward optimizing workflows, eliminating redundancies and introducing automation where it truly adds value.
