I (and many others) have fond memories of procrastinating on Turntable.fm (cc @billychasen@seth). Festify brings some of that nostalgic, collaborative DJ'ing to the real world, powered by Spotify. I wonder if Spotify is planning to build something like this.

@kingthor@rrhoover Yes, a number of other apps have done this previously on the Spotify / Rdio platforms including TuneTug & Soundrop. The Soundrop guys are also backed by one of the early Spotify VCs. Mostly these have focused on the home market. @GetRockbot we are focused on U.S. businesses. It's great to see some many people working on it. Btw, we're hiring for anyone else that wants to tackle this.

Oh looks awesome! We use Rockbot to do this at clubs so this would be perfect for home parties.
@tymathews they launched OSX and Windows as the server apps - the client is just an HTML5 webpage so it works on any mobile phone. Great launch decision, actually.

This is so cool! We wanted to do this for our wedding so bad.
Currently what we always do is have our guests add their own songs to a playlist on Spotify and call it "Song Off." This voting component makes it so much easier to let everyone be apart of the fun. I'm sold! :)
Had an idea like this for a long time, thought it would work great for clubs/bars if it had a social loop built in, so people tweeted to pick the next song or playlist. Seemed like it could be a great way to get more people in a club that night.
This is cool to see. We built something exactly like this a good 4 years ago for in-office use. Boy was it fun. Glad to see someone had the same idea and turned it into an actual product.
