What do you think? …

Anthony Advincula
What inspired you to build this app? I built QRISP because most QR and barcode scanners felt slow, bloated, or overly intrusive. Many were filled with tracking, heavy ads, or unnecessary permissions. I wanted a scanner that was fast, privacy-focused, and reliable even without internet. The goal was simple: create a clean and efficient tool that people could trust and use instantly. What problem are you trying to solve? QR and barcode tools should be simple, but most aren’t. They slow down on older devices, require constant internet, or collect more data than they need. QRISP solves this by keeping everything lightweight and offline-first, removing tracking, and making scanning/generating codes fast, accurate, and frustration-free. It’s built for people who want a dependable everyday tool, not another complex “super app.” How did your approach or process evolve while working on this launch? The process started with speed and privacy as the core priorities. Over time, user testing pushed the design toward a more intuitive, minimalist UI and faster workflows. Performance tuning became a major focus — especially ensuring instant startup and accurate scanning across all devices. As the app matured, I kept both versions aligned so users didn’t feel forced to upgrade. Only one power feature became Pro-only: Collections, a structured way to organize large sets of scans and generated codes. It allowed me to keep the free version fully useful while offering something valuable for power users. For this launch, I streamlined the product story, refined onboarding, polished the UX, and ensured both versions were stable and responsive. The result is a simple, trustworthy tool built from real user pain points, not trends.

@antvincula I downloaded QRISP and use it already. Its quite fast alright especially on opening the app. I have to say you might want to tinker on this loading of camera scan a little bit but I'm not sure if its on my device or it should really need an improvement. Check it yourself. Open any scanner - QR and Barcode Scanner, Batch scanner or Wifi Scanner then check only the black frame it loads a bit delayed. But all in all it works really well, it has nice UI, unique Scan History and Code detail screen much differ than the QR scanner I tried, most of them have the same UI that seems only one developer created it. QRISP is quite unique and has a different approach for users experience.
