Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built FavorPDF because every time I needed to compress or convert a PDF, I hit
the same walls: a watermark slapped on the result, a forced sign-up, a "2 files
per day" limit, or a surprise paywall at the download step.
FavorPDF is my answer to that — 35+ PDF tools in one place, all genuinely free:
• Merge, split, compress, rotate, organize
• Convert to/from Word, Excel, PowerPoint, JPG/PNG, HTML, text
• OCR scanned PDFs, add page numbers, watermark, password-protect, sign
No account. No watermark. No daily limit. Files are sent over an encrypted
connection, processed on our servers, and deleted automatically after 30 minutes
— nothing is kept. It runs in any browser and speaks 8 languages.
It's a solo project and still early, so I'd genuinely love your feedback:
1. Which tool did you try, and did it do what you expected?
2. What felt confusing or missing?
3. What would make you come back?
Thanks for taking a look 🙏

How does the OCR actually handle scanned PDFs with mixed languages or messy formatting, and is there any cap on file size before the conversion quality starts to drop?

@erdalkoalaecjc Thanks for asking! OCR is still an area we're actively improving. It already works well for clean scanned PDFs, and we're currently testing better support for multilingual documents and more complex layouts. As for file size, we don't enforce an artificial limit, though very large documents may naturally take longer to process. We'd love to hear your feedback if you give it a try.

Tried compressing a hefty report and it shaved it down to a third of the size without making the text fuzzy. Really like that there's no signup or watermark nonsense.

@ufukkzltenth2l Thanks so much! That means a lot to hear. We spent a lot of time balancing compression quality with readability, so it's great to know it worked well for your report. Keeping FavorPDF free to use without sign-up or watermarks is something we care about. Really appreciate you giving it a try!

How do you actually make money if there are no accounts, watermarks, or limits on the free tier?

@erdileylak Great question! We don't plan to put the core PDF tools behind a paywall. Our goal is to keep everyday tasks like merging, splitting, compressing, and converting PDFs free and available without sign-up. As FavorPDF grows, we'll introduce optional paid features—primarily AI-powered tools that require much more computing power. Those advanced features will likely require an account, while the core experience stays simple and free.

The auto-delete after 30 minutes is a really thoughtful touch, shows the team actually thought through the privacy angle instead of just slapping an "encrypted" badge on the landing page.

@sametasralrbqy Thanks! Privacy has been one of our priorities from day one. We're actually improving this even further—rather than keeping files for a fixed period, our goal is to remove them automatically as soon as processing is complete whenever possible.
