Fasty is a GPU-accelerated, minimalist terminal emulator built with Rust, winit and wgpu. No ADE bloat, just speed. Sub-1% idle CPU, native tab tear-out, live-reload TOML config, and bottombar widgets for git, time, kube, and aws.
Hey! I'm Diego, the developer behind fasty. Wanted to share why I built this. At some point every tool I used started shipping with AI built in by default. My terminal was no exception. Suggestions popping up, agents trying to run commands for me, context windows filling up with things I never asked for. I just wanted to open a tab and run commands.
I built fasty for people who feel the same way. It's fast, it stays out of your way, and it doesn't assume you need help unless you ask for it. That's really it. If you're tired of AI showing up everywhere you didn't invite it, this one's for you. Give it a shot and let me know what you think 🙏
