Sending one resume to every job gets you filtered out, and AI tools "tailor" it by inventing skills you don't have. fastcv tailors your resume to each job post using only what you've actually done. • Import your PDF/Word resume or build one in minutes • See your match score and missing skills for any job • AI rewrites it in the job's words, never invents facts, and lists what you can't claim • Clean one-page PDF, free, no watermark

Hey Product Hunt 👋
I'm Akshat, a backend engineer. I built fastcv because I kept running into two problems when applying for jobs:
1. Jake's Resume is the format engineers trust, but editing LaTeX in Overleaf every time you change a bullet is painful.
2. AI resume tools "tailor" by making things up. They add skills you've never used and numbers you never hit, and that falls apart in the first interview.
So fastcv does two things:
Build: fill a short form (or import your PDF, Word or .tex file) and get a properly typeset Jake's Resume. The PDF is free, with no signup and no watermark. You can export the .tex or open it in Overleaf.
Tailor: paste a job post and AI rewrites your resume for it, using only what your resume already backs up. It never invents employers, tools, dates or metrics. Any rewrite that adds or drops a detail is flagged, and requirements you can't honestly claim are listed separately, so you know where you actually stand.
A few things I cared about:
- The job-match checker runs entirely in your browser. Your resume never leaves your device.
- Your name, email and phone are never sent to the AI.
I'd love your honest feedback, especially:
- Does the tailoring feel trustworthy, or too cautious?
- What's missing that would make you switch from Overleaf?
