Hi everyone, I'm Tony from Boston. This might sound familiar. The kids are with their grandparents regularly, and some days start with writing a long text, or my favorite, the rapid-fire ones. Where they need to be, what to pack, what time pickup is, who to call if something goes sideways. Then you're thinking during a client meeting, was that everything? Yup, that's my story. I'm a product manager, so I did the predictable thing and started writing a spec sheet for the house. What came out of it is Fambul, and the idea underneath it is the handoff. Let's say it's a Thursday afternoon, or the school run, or a whole weekend at their grandparents' (yes, finally a date night); all the information and tasks are in the handoff. They accept it. That's the part that mattered to me. Once they've accepted it, it's out of my head. Grandparents and sitters get their own way in, and they only see the window they're covering. My mom doesn't need our whole family account, she needs Thursday. The thing I actually set out to solve was school. I wanted the kids' school stuff sitting in the same place as everything else, and I went at it the hard way first, trying to plug into each school platform one at a time. ClassDojo has no public API and no calendar feed at all. ParentSquare has a subscribe link, but it's tied to you as a parent rather than to the school, and you can only get at it on the website. Then it clicked. All of that already ends up in our own Google calendar, so Fambul just reads that. We are in beta for the first 50 families. Your data exports whenever you want, including on the way out. I'd like to hear how other households handle the grandparent handoff. Are you sending the long texts or the rapid-fire ones?
