Hi Product Hunt 👋 I'm a solo developer in Korea and this is Fairy AI.
It started as a silly question: what if the "assistant" wasn't a chat box in a sidebar, but a tiny character that actually lives on the page with you? So the fairy walks around the page, reads what you're reading, and answers questions about it without you copying anything.
It hatches from an egg, roams around, remembers what you talked about last time, and after a while starts speaking first. At the end of the day it writes a short diary entry in its own voice.
The part people share most: show it a picture of clothes anywhere on the web and it redraws itself wearing that exact outfit. Hats, outfits and accessories are separate slots. Show it food and it eats, a flower and it sniffs it. In testing nobody showed it normal clothes; it was full plate armor and goblin masks.
It turned out more useful than I expected. Because it already sees the page, I end up asking it things I'd otherwise paste into a chatbot; summarize this thread, what does this clause actually mean, help me word this reply. It drafts the comment or the email right there, with the page as context. The pet is why I installed it; this is why I keep it.
The characters themselves didn't start in an AI tool. I built the first one in VRoid Studio, reworked the mesh in Blender, and rigged it through Mixamo to render proper sprite sheets. Compositing clothes onto every animation frame turned out to be far too expensive to run per user, so I collapsed those down to one image per emotion; and generated the other 27 species from that original render, so they all share its proportions and line weight.
A few things I cared about:
It stays out of the way. Pin it, hide it with a shortcut, and it only speaks first if you've been on a page for 5+ minutes (max 3 times a day, off by default if you want).
Your scrapbook and its "diary" of what you looked at together stay on your device; the diary never leaves the browser. Before you sign in, the only thing that reaches our servers is a random per-install id from the adoption draw (so you keep the same fairy afterwards).
28 characters to choose from, four languages (EN/KO/JA/ES).
Free tier: 10 "soul stones" to start and 1 free every day. Outfits cost 5, small gifts cost 1. An optional subscription adds more each month.
One honest note: I'm a new developer account on the Chrome Web Store, so Chrome may show a "not trusted by Enhanced Safe Browsing yet" warning on install. That clears with time; the code is exactly what's in the store listing.
Would love to hear which character you got and what you made it wear. 🧚
