Hi everyone, I'm Nikita, and Factual is my first iOS app. I built it because I was tired of how I read the news. My feeds were either an endless algorithmic scroll built for outrage, or a dozen open tabs I never finished. I wanted something calmer: a place where I pick the sources, and the app helps me actually understand what's going on – instead of deciding for me what matters. So Factual does a few things I always wished a news app would: • a short summary of every article, so I can tell what's worth a full read • a fact-check of the key claims against independent sources • translation of headlines and full articles from 20+ languages, so language isn't a wall I come from a product design background, so I cared a lot about the details and the calm feel of it. On the engineering side this is my first real app, so I'm sure there's a lot to improve, and that's exactly why I'm here.
