Powered by the same technology we’ve used to suggest friends you may want to tag in photos or videos, these new features help you find photos that you’re not tagged in and help you detect when others might be attempting to use your image as their profile picture.

A little creepy, but ideal for preventing fake profiles. How would this work if people have multiple profiles? 🤔

@lamaalrajih Since one is not allowed to have multiple profiles, I imagine it'll flag one of them. If "multiple profiles" is a consideration, create a page.

Am I the only one secretly hoping to find a doppelganger somewhere in the world with this new feature?

I see this kind of tech also been used by dating sites or similar.

The cognitive work load I would need to undertake in order to fully assess any Facebook service like this, including VERY carefully reviewing their terms and service and privacy (which I rarely do for any other company) makes it a no-go straight out the gate for me. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me 20 times; you're Facebook. 😋
So Facebook wants you to give it permission to start implicitly tagging (they’re doing it already, I’m sure) you in every pic. Then you help them train their algorithm by stating if that’s you or not.
Facebook, I can’t wait until you become Yahoo.

I'm sure the product's cool. Shame the technology is being used to
addict kids to screens where they can watch cat videos and lose self-esteem.
Pros:Product looks cool and hi-tech.
Cons:Facebook In the Name
