I'm Daniel, maker of EZAudio — a browser-based audio toolkit for
people who deal with audio every day.
🎯 The problem
Every "AI audio tool" out there wants me to:
- Install a 200MB desktop app
- Sign up before I can test
- Pay before I can export
When all I needed was to remove vocals from a song, or turn a
voice memo into text. Five minutes of work, not five hours of
setup.
💡 The inspiration
I watched a friend — a music teacher — spend 30 minutes downloading,
installing, and cracking a vocal remover just to make a karaoke
backing track for class. That's when EZAudio clicked: the tool
shouldn't be the bottleneck.
🛠️ What we built
Three focused browser tools, all live now:
- Vocal Remover — separate vocals from music for karaoke, practice
- Splitter — break tracks into stems for remixing
- Audio to Text — turn recordings into searchable notes
No installs. No plugins. Open the page, upload, download.
🔄 What we learned
We almost launched as a "do-everything audio platform" — mastering,
podcast editing, noise reduction, the works. Killed it.
Audio people don't need another kitchen sink. They need one tool
that does the job it's named after, in 30 seconds, online.
So we shipped 3 tools instead of 30.

would love a batch upload option so i can drop multiple files at once for vocal removal instead of processing them one by one. would save a ton of time on podcast episodes.
Splitting a long podcast episode right in the browser felt surprisingly smooth, no install, no fuss. The vocal remover did a decent job too, though it's not magic on busy tracks.
honestly the vocal removal worked way better than i expected on a messy podcast clip i tossed in, like it pulled out the voice cleanly without that weird warble you usually get from free tools. browser-based and no signup is a nice touch too.
A browser-based tool for this stuff is genuinely useful, especially not having to download anything. One thing that would make it a daily driver for me is batch processing being able to queue up several files for vocal removal or splitting at once would save a ton of time compared to handling them one by one.
honestly the audio-to-text feature is solid but it would be really useful if you could export the transcript with timestamps, like as an srt file for subtitles. that would save me a ton of time on my video edits
the fact that everything runs right in the browser without needing to download anything is honestly such a smooth move, makes quick audio edits feel way less of a hassle
