Eyrie

The schema-first platform for building and deploying apps

The Eyrie platform allows developers to rapidly deploy applications to a managed cloud platform without any extra setup on their end. All Eyrie needs is an API contract and it will take care of the rest allowing one to focus on what's important: business logic

Hey all! Jonny Green and I have been working on a new API framework, contract first API generator and a new platform for applications for the past 6-7 months and are excited to share with you all what we have built. 🐦 The Eyrie Framework The Eyrie Framework is a user-friendly and highly-opinionated framework for defining services. It is designed to provide all the bells and whistles out of the box that you may need when defining APIs to allow developers to focus on what’s important, the business logic. Key features include enforcing best practices such as documentation, validation and fully type-safe connectivity between the application and service layers. Built using Deno, it aims to minimise the use of 3rd party-dependencies and provide as much web-standard functionality as possible, whilst also providing the option to customise as you see fit (you will also be able to use this in Node.js and Bun). We are open sourcing the API Framework and would love to get feedback on the tool as a whole. It is very much in an alpha state right now, but we are looking to enhance it further moving forwards. You can check it out at https://lnkd.in/gkCP9CDa 📝 Second, the contract first API generator Most JS frameworks today use a code-first approach to writing API’s, providing annotations for classes that tell the framework how to compile. We believe strongly in a contract first approach - also known as schema first - for API development. Contract first allows you to make sure your API’s are written to follow exactly what they need, reducing potential bloat in the compiled code. It also provides a way to generate documentation for your API straight out of the box with an OpenAPI schema for easy distribution to customers and/or developers within a company. We are open sourcing the API Framework Generator and would love to get feedback on the tool as a whole. It is very much in an alpha state right now, but we are looking to enhance it further moving forwards. Developers focus on what the business needs to succeed. Using contracts makes sure we have documentation right out of the box and engineers can just upload their schemas to the Eyrie platform and we will handle the rest. The Eyrie platform is in an alpha state right now and you can check it out at https://eyrie.app 🔦 What the future holds We have a lot of ideas in the pipeline and will be sharing them as we progress here on LinkedIn. If you got any ideas or would like to stay tuned, give us a shout!
