every year i find out about a new event or conference that i had no idea about before. think this is a solution 😄 is there a play on the ticket sales or other value adds for interacting with the platform? look forward to watching it grow ⬆️⬆️⬆️
@jaronrayhinds Hey Jaron! Right now, the goal of the platform is to really help conferences get seen! What I am looking at doing in the near future is working a bit with the Likes system and how the interactions work to only further increase the amount of people that see the conferences, so the focus is really on how many eyes event organizers can get on their conferences and leading the user straight to buying tickets. Thanks for tagging along the journey, if you have any(more) conferences you'd like to see on the platform, submit them up!
Hey EventsBase fans, An emailing list is now available to those who are looking for a weekly digest of new events (Every Monday). Enjoy! http://eventsbase.us13.list-mana...
After some thought, it seems like a Medium publication will be a much more engaging (and easier to reach) place to keep the digests. Weekly digests can be found every Monday at https://medium.com/the-eventsbas....
Here's the first edition: https://medium.com/the-eventsbas...
Enjoy!

Hey Nikhil, it looks good. I have used Lanyrd (http://lanyrd.com/), and even Conferize (https://www.conferize.com/) is comprehensive although Conferize helps you create event pages too. So, how EventsBase is different from, say Lanyrd?
@vingar Hey, Thanks for the nice comment! And that's a great question! So EventsBase is supposed to really focus on one topic: event discovery in tech and business. This eliminates small network events, casual get togethers, etc. The focus is really on larger and more premium events with plenty of attendees, a built-up schedule/agenda, and overall, just more formal. Lanyrd is a bit of a mix of stuff and while EventsBase definitely is similar, the event discovery is much more targeted and is redesigned to be more curated, elegant, and fun to use, rather than just a straight directory list of different events happening around the world. EventsBase focuses on a large single list of events, but something that's easy to filter whether you're nearby or just looking for a cool event going on around the world. Overtime, the goal is to really focus on the "social" aspect of events better than anything else that does now, so more on that soon.
Otherwise, another big difference really comes down to curation. It's not a free for all directory where anyone can post anything but rather something people can rely on to find the perfect events with just enough info to get them interested as well. Hopefully that clears it up a bit!
Hey ProductHunt! Just thought I'd mention that this product has a newly created blog that you should check out! Planning some really cool posts (that will be out real soon!) for event goers, event organizers, and speakers. 🎉 https://medium.com/the-eventsbas...
