Hey, super concerned about trustworthiness here. I see no whitepaper, no open-source code, no crypto audits. Would not use this product - use ProtonMail.

Hi @rkt_ffx , Thanks for your comment and happy to address your concerns. We have a whitepaper in the making, which is expected to be available in Q4 or Q1 of 2023. We are working hard on the open beta and have already closed a seed funding round. We are quite different from Protonmail, as we enable wallet to wallet communication with end to end encryption with the benefits of privacy and anonymity vs proton focusing on solely privacy primarily. Lastly, we would love to share audits, but we are in an open beta at this stage with many moving parts so realistically are still ways away from having collated all of those. Have a great Friday!

@rkt_ffx ProtonMail gives all your info to authorities when they request it. Hard pass on that one. Same with EtherMail unless it becomes 100% open source. Otherwise, the word "secure" and "anonymous" unfortunately can't be used, no matter the audits.

Hi @mmvlad , thanks for your feedback! Ethermail emails are fully encrypted and encryption/decryption keys are stored on the blockhain, so can only be unlocked by the User. We took encryption one step further, as Ethermail has no means to share these keys with any third party. This is how we leverage the power of Blockchain!

Relly cool! Good to see more and more innovation focusing on the social and communication side of web3. I was thinking about a solution like this recently. However, I struggle to see how this can take over traditional email, which works relatively well nowadays. The only thing I could think of was spam protection. Possibly if/when micropayments become mainstream, you can charge people to pay for every email they send, which hopefully can reduce spam. Anyway, good luck! 🤞

Hi @ben_toth , thanks for your thoughts and wishes! We don't aim to take on traditional email. In fact, we acknowledge that it can't be killed. What we are trying to do is build a bridge between web2 and web3, by enabling wallet-to-wallet communication, a earn 2 read model as well as marketing suite for daos, dapps and nft projects. Think of gmail plus mailchimp plus blockchain that is Ethermail! :)
