The latest episode of @LastWeekTonight with John Oliver takes on the big 3 credit agencies. In the episode John Oliver shows how people's lives can be ruined when the credit agencies / background check agencies mess up (can't get a loan, can't get a job, etc.). The agencies made the case that 95% of the time they get it right (implying that they make a mistake 'only' 5% of the time). This means that 10 million people have to suffer if they're one of the 5% they mess up on. So... John Oliver started 3 websites that are very similar to those of the credit agencies (this is one of them). Maybe people will go to those instead 5% of the time and rightfully freak out (those companies are ridiculous). John Oliver and the team at Last Week Tonight continue to draw attention to areas most people spend little time thinking about, and the show is doing an amazing job. 👏👏
