Ensemble is a beautifully crafted, modern screenplay writing software for writers, filmmakers, and collaborators. Write industry-standard screenplays, collaborate in real time, generate AI-assisted shot lists, and securely share scripts with optional password protection.
Over the past couple of years I’ve been transitioning from software engineering into filmmaking, and like most writers, I tried nearly every screenwriting tool out there. Some were powerful but bloated. Others were simple but missing essential features. None felt like the modern writing experience I wanted.
What I really wanted was something that felt:
* fast
* simple
* beautifully crafted
* and built for collaboration
I wanted a place where writers could focus purely on the story; not fight with formatting, exporting PDFs, or passing files back and forth.
So I started building Ensemble. A screenwriting editor designed from the ground up to make writing feel effortless while making collaboration natural.
