emtranslator — English to Monsu translator A zero-dependency Python CLI & library that translates English text into the fictional Monsu language using a word dictionary. The pitch: translating is usually a heavyweight problem — APIs, network calls, dependencies. I wanted the opposite. One pip install, no dependencies, works offline, works everywhere Python 3.8+ runs. What it does: • Word-by-word translation from a built-in 90-word dictionary • Reverse mode (Monsu → English) with a single flag • Punctuation, whitespace, and unknown words pass through untouched • Case-insensitive lookup that preserves your original casing • Extend the dictionary from the CLI (`emtrans add`) or the API (`add_word()`), persisted to a TOML config file • `--json` output that reports words missing from the dictionary Zero-dependency philosophy: The TOML reader/writer is hand-rolled. No requests, no click, no typer, no requests to the network — just the standard library.
