Emote is a private way to share how you're feeling with your close friends β no public feed, no likes, no followers. Pick a mood, add a note, send it to mutual friends. They react privately. Everything disappears in 24 hours. Free, no ads, no tracking.
Hey Product Hunt π
I built Emote because every "share how you feel" app I tried turned into another feed to perform on β likes, followers, public posts that stick around forever.
Emote is the opposite: pick a mood, add a note if you want, send it to your close friends (mutual-follow only), and it's gone in 24 hours. No public feed, no follower counts, no ads or tracking. Friends can send a private reaction back β a hug, a "same" β that only the two of you see.
Your own moods aren't lost though β they build into a private color-coded diary just for you, so you can look back on how your months actually felt.
It's completely free right now, built solo, no analytics SDKs in it at all. Would love feedback on the core loop β especially from anyone who's tried and dropped mood-tracking apps before. What made you stop using them?

This is a cool concept, love that it's truly private without all the social pressure. One thing I'd love to see is an option for friends to leave a quick voice note instead of just emoji reactions. Hearing a real "thinking of you" from a close friend after seeing their mood would feel way more personal and meaningful than tapping a face.

@myron_yeatesΒ Really glad the "no social pressure" part landed β that was the whole point.
Voice notes is a great call, and honestly kind of an obvious next step I hadn't thought about β right now reactions are emoji + a short text reply, but a 5-second "thinking of you" in someone's actual voice would hit way harder than any face I could design. That's a much bigger signal than a tap.
Adding it to the list for after launch. If I ship it, I'll come back and tag you β would love your take on it once it exists. Thanks for taking the time to write this out π
