Ohai Product Hunt 👋
Emdy is a Markdown reader. It's not an editor or a note app, it's just a great way to read .md files. Most Markdown tools are focused on editing. Markdown files are mostly getting created and edited with AI tools, not written by hand, and it feels really heavy to open a whole IDE just to read a project plan or README markdown file.
And that's why I made Emdy. Open a file or directory and read. A minimap similar to what you see in IDEs help with navigating long documents. Search across file names and content. Live reload when files change externally, so it stays in sync when your LLM updates your file.
Emdy is private by design. Everything stays on your machine. No signup required, no cloud storage, and your data is not tracked in anyway. The project is open source under GPLv3 license and free, though your support is appreciated.
