Hi Product Hunt! We built Embedfinder because adding videos to a site by hand means copying a title, a description, a thumbnail and an iframe for every single entry.
You paste a link and get one clean entry back. YouTube goes through its official API (tags, exact upload date, duration, the largest thumbnail it has). Vimeo and Dailymotion go through oEmbed. Any other page is read through its Open Graph tags, JSON-LD and the players it publishes, ranked so the most reliable embeddable one comes first. We only read public data: the videos stay where they are hosted.
What's free: single videos, 5 a day without an account and 10 a day with a free one, plus the first 10 videos of a playlist. Four free tools need no sign-up at all (YouTube metadata, YouTube thumbnail, Vimeo metadata and an embed code generator); the playlist-to-CSV one needs a free account.
Paid plans (US$ 7 and US$ 19 a month) add whole playlists and listings, CSV export, a REST API, webhooks and a WordPress plugin that creates drafts with featured image, tags and player.
Known limits: pages that only render with JavaScript come back partial, and the JSON field names are in Spanish for now.
We'd love links that break it and feedback on the output. We'll be here all day. — Embedfinder team
