Elementum brings real fluid physics to video editors without the overhead of a full 3D pipeline. Paint a trigger zone directly on your footage, tune smoke, fire and water live, and export - no rendering wait, no recycled stock clips. It runs on GPU with a real fluid solver, obstacles you paint actually deflect the flow, and an automatic tracker follows a point in your shot.
Hey everyone! I'm a video editor myself, and I kept running into the same wall: needing a quick smoke, fire, or water element for a shot, and either faking it with stock footage or opening a full 3D suite just for one effect.
So I spent the last few months building Elementum. It runs on GPU with a real fluid solver (not recycled clips), you paint a trigger zone directly on your footage, and it reacts live — obstacles you paint actually deflect the flow, and there's an automatic tracker that follows a point in your shot.
My process evolved a lot along the way: the first versions were much slower and the obstacle painting was clunky. Getting it to feel truly real-time, so you can tune it while watching your footage instead of waiting for a render, was the whole point.
Would love your feedback, especially from anyone doing VFX or motion work who's tired of switching apps for a quick effect.
