I'm a 58-year-old carpenter and I built EIRA with my own hands. Why? Because I was sick of shallow answers from online gurus. Runs straight on my machine with no cloud nonsense, and the retro terminal look actually makes reviewing herbalism docs kind of fun. Liked that I could just drop in my own API key and export a clean PDF without any extra steps.

The retro terminal interface is a nice touch and it actually parses PDFs pretty fast on my machine. The whole BYOK setup means I'm not worried about where my health data ends up, which is the main thing I look for in tools like this.

I wanted to share a bit of the story behind EIRA. I am actually a 58-year-old carpenter, used to working with my hands and creating things out of wood. But I wanted to build something digital that, just like my woodwork, brings joy, support, and real utility to people.
The inspiration came from my own bookshelf, where the "Codex Humanus" (the big encyclopedia of holistic medicine and natural healing) has its place. I wanted to create a private, unzensored AI specialist that makes this deep biological and holistic knowledge accessible to everyone, completely running locally on your own desktop without compromising privacy.
EIRA is fully protected, obfuscated, and ready for you to use. I put a lot of heart into this project, just like I do with every piece of wood in my workshop.
