Edpear transforms edtech with easy plug-and-play components for building learning tools. In a day, I created and published followupai on npm, a library that builds chatbots generating follow-up questions instead of direct answers.

I’m Aarush, a 17-year-old who’s been building edtech projects for over 8 years, driven by a passion to create tools that truly benefit my community. Throughout this journey, I developed several websites designed to help students study smarter. Along the way, I discovered a game-changing approach: instead of just giving students answers, we engage them with follow-up questions that deepen understanding and spark real learning.
Building this system was challenging, and I was surprised there wasn’t a simple, all-in-one library for developers to easily create such powerful edtech tools. That’s why I created Edpear - an open-source platform aiming to become the foundation for thousands, even millions, of edtech startups worldwide.
Edpear’s mission is clear: education should be free and accessible to all. Our flagship npm library, followupai, lets developers add a fully functional chatbot with just one line of code. This chatbot not only answers questions but generates follow-ups with multiple-choice options, correct answers, and detailed explanations, all in a single component:

Edpear is building a community-driven ecosystem where anyone can contribute and help reshape the future of learning.
