Hi Product Hunt š I'm the maker of Editor Photo 8K.
Why I built it: most photo upscalers either upload your pictures to a server or use generative AI that quietly invents details that were never in the original. I wanted something that stays on your phone and stays honest about what's in your photo.
How it works: it enlarges photos up to 8K UHD (7680Ć4320) using progressive interpolation, then sharpens fine detail with an unsharp mask. No cloud upload, no generative AI.
What's inside:
⢠100% on-device processing, your photos never leave your phone
⢠Micro-Detail Sharpness (Off / Subtle / Medium / Strong) with a noise gate so grain isn't amplified
⢠Skin & Face mode that keeps pores crisp without harsh overshoot
⢠Before/After slider with focus peaking to check sharpness
Pricing: free for 3 photos a day (with ads). Premium is 10 photos a day, no ads, via Google Play.
To be upfront, this is classic signal processing, not magic. Results depend on the source photo.
Feedback that would help me most:
1. How do the results compare with the upscaler you use today?
2. Is 3 free photos/day a fair starting point?
3. Is "on-device, not AI" a plus for you, or do you want AI options too?
4. What should I build next: batch processing, 2K/4K options, more formats?
Thanks for taking a look!
