@arlogilbert Yeah I'm surprised that they only chose Zigbee. Maybe there will be Amazon-branded smart home devices using Zigbee coming soon?

I have an echo and I'd love to support Amazon's efforts but the lack of focus on the creation of better "skills" or enabling/encouraging more developers to contribute prevents my echo from being anything more than a glorified bluetooth speaker and kitchen timer and I am not willing to throw it in the trash and upgrade every few months to get new features.
