ECCN.help is an export control determination assistant. It walks an item through the same sequence a compliance officer would - jurisdiction first, then the Commerce Control List, then the Country Chart - and reports which rule decided, not only what the answer was.

I built ECCN.help to make export control determinations more transparent, consistent, and defensible. Too often, the challenge isn’t just finding an ECCN—it’s being able to explain why that classification was reached and which rule actually decided it. I wanted to build a tool that follows the same logical sequence a compliance professional would: jurisdiction first, then the Commerce Control List, then the Country Chart. ECCN.help is designed for people who need to justify an answer, not simply receive one. Each determination records what was asked, what rule decided it, and which version of the regulation was used. It is an assistant—not a substitute for official classification by BIS or DDTC, and not legal advice.
