We built EOS because context switching was killing flow. It is an offline-first "Mini-OS" for your new tab that consolidates your essential tools into one distraction-free environment. Featuring a physics-based audio engine, a built-in Roguelite RPG, and the new "Compass" for seamless fullscreen navigation, it is designed to keep you focused without leaving your browser. Best of all, it stores zero data on servers, running entirely locally on your machine.
Hi Product Hunt! 👋 We are the makers behind EOS (Essence Of Space).
We built EOS because we had a specific problem: context switching was killing our flow. Every time we opened a new tab to check an RSS feed, write a quick note, or change a song, we would get distracted by the internet.
So, we spent the last few months building a solution. Unlike standard extensions that just give you a pretty wallpaper, we engineered EOS to function like a 'Mini-OS' that lives offline inside your browser.
What we couldn't fit in the main description:
🔊 The Physics of Focus: The audio engine (EosWave) isn't just a looped MP3. It uses a custom AudioWorklet to generate Pink and Brown noise in real-time. It actually includes a "Shield Mode" that actively cuts specific fatigue-inducing frequencies (around 3.5kHz) based on psychoacoustic research.
🛡️ Radical Privacy: This was non-negotiable for us. We don't have a server. Every note you write in EosPad, every task, and every game save is stored 100% locally on your machine using IndexedDB.
⚔️ The Hidden RPG: When you need a break, you shouldn't have to doom-scroll. We embedded Eospiral, a full grid-based Roguelite RPG with turn-based combat, directly into the dashboard.
A quick note from the team: We are a small team of students and aspirants (Arnav, Aditya, and Puneet) balancing this project with our university classes. We might not be able to answer every comment instantly, but we promise to read everything and reply as soon as we're out of lectures! 🎓
We’d love to know: Do you prefer Pink Noise or Brown Noise for deep work? (The new engine supports both!)
