DunDun is a focused squat counter built around motion sensors. It works with Apple Watch, iPhone, or even AirPods — using real-time motion data to detect squats without manual tapping or camera tracking. Designed for quick home or gym workouts, the interface stays minimal and distraction-free. No ads, no complicated setup — just open and start training. Built by the developer behind YaoYao, with years of experience designing for watchOS.
Hi everyone 👋
I built DunDun because I wanted a simple way to count squats without using the camera or tapping the screen.
Most fitness apps either rely on video tracking or require manual input. That felt awkward, especially during quick workouts at home. I wanted something lightweight and private.
So I started experimenting with motion data from Apple Watch — and later expanded support to iPhone and even AirPods. It turns out the motion sensors are surprisingly capable if you design carefully around them.
The biggest challenge wasn’t counting reps. It was reducing false positives while keeping detection responsive, and making sure it works across different body rhythms and speeds.
DunDun is intentionally minimal: no ads, no complex setup — just open and start squatting.
It’s built by the same developer behind YaoYao. I’ve been building for watchOS for years, and I enjoy exploring how much we can do with small, wearable devices.
Would love to hear your feedback or questions. Thanks for checking it out 🙌
