Hey Product Hunt! I'm Himanshu, and I built DroidDock.
I use an Android phone with a MacBook, and I got tired of picking up my phone for every OTP, message and file. Continuity is great if you own an iPhone. Android + Mac users get ADB, scrcpy and a phone stuck in developer mode. I wanted something anyone could install and pair in two minutes.
DroidDock connects your Android phone to your Mac over your own Wi-Fi:
Clipboard sync both ways, including Android 13+ and One UI (it listens for copy events instead of polling)
Phone notifications as native macOS alerts with inline reply, plus SMS threads and calls from the Mac
Drag-and-drop file transfer and a full storage and photos browser
Screen mirroring with tap, swipe and type control, your phone camera as a Mac feed, and a desktop mode that keeps the phone usable
The reverse too: your Mac's battery, Now Playing, volume and lock right on the phone
No account, no server, no cloud. Pairing is a one-time QR scan and nothing leaves your network. The Mac app is a ~6 MB native app built with Swift + Rust, the Android side is Kotlin + Jetpack Compose. It's free and the source is on GitHub.
Being upfront about the limits: Apple Silicon only for now, encryption is opt-in and covers control messages only (full TLS is on the roadmap), no audio streaming yet, and the build isn't notarised, so first launch needs right-click → Open.
Feedback I'd love most:
Was pairing and the permissions setup clear, or did you get stuck anywhere?
Which phone and Android version are you on, and did clipboard and mirroring work for you?
What should I build next: audio streaming, full TLS, or Intel Mac builds?
Thanks for checking it out. I'll be here all day answering questions!
