What do you think? …

I would love to try it, but I only have android :/ Any release plans?
Jurgis Kirsakmens
@stefan_hesse We had Android version in the past (2012-2015). Unfortunately that really did not work out then - amount of support, maintenance and rapid change in Android platform (when Google took over platform development tools) was not really sustainable with the income we made with DrinkControl Android version. For now we decided to focus on iOS - for indie developer like me it's already hard to keep pace with changes in single ecosystem (iOS) and almost impossible to keep feet in both unless your app reaches scale and income level to hire/partner with someone that can help build/maintain app for second platform.

@xjki I totally understand. Have you looked into PWA's? They seem to catch up w.r.t. performance and that app doesn't look like it has crazy low-level needs.
Jurgis Kirsakmens
@stefan_hesse Native apps still beats PWA in terms of integration with platform (e.g. sync with Apple Health) and business side of things (handling payments). And DrinkControl is very privacy focused (all user data stays on device only) so I'm not so sure that PWA would be best option eve aside technical considerations.

Alright, your submission about the play store hitch is understable. Would like to install it when I have my iphone then

Hi, I'm co-creator of DrinkControl, happy to be here! DrinkControl new version is major update - aside from visual redesign (including dark mode and alternate app icons) and improvements in stats and charts, app adds sync with Apple Health (for calories you get from alcohol). Happy to answer any questions you have!

@xjki any plans to write to Apple Health BAC?
Jurgis Kirsakmens
@kobie No, DrinkControl focuses on long-term tracking instead of short-term estimates (BAC).
Kobie Botha
@xjki Thanks for letting me know!

Love it! I made an app similar back in college called HangOver to help track what drink combinations would give you a hangover. Turns out if you drink enough to get a Hangover you will forget to log your drinks.
Jurgis Kirsakmens
@willjamieson93 Thanks! I think any combination/overuse will eventually lead to hangover :)

Not an alcoholic, but I love the dashboard! Downloaded!
Jurgis Kirsakmens
@nguy_n_hung_tu_n1 Thank you! I hope you will app helpful. App is not really for alcoholics (they should stay away from alcohol at all), main audience is people that enjoy tracking things (quantified self) or someone who would like to become more mindful in regard to alcohol.
Tuan (Alan) Nguyen
@xjki beautiful! I will test the app for a few days! Love it so far :)

@peteliev Thank you!

Really interesting. I stopped drinking 9 months ago, after reading Sober Curious. I've always been a moderate drinker, but I found that, as I am getting older, even after just two or three beers during an evening alcohol made me sluggish and tired the next day. I decided to do a 90 days with no booze trial and the results have been so overwhelmingly positive - much better sleep, more energy, better work-outs - that I haven't really drunk since. I had a glass of champagne at my wife's birthday, but that's pretty much it.
