I built Drift Cut because making a vertical clip of a 3D model meant either learning an NLE or handing the file to somebody else's server. It does one thing. You give it a model and a song, it finds the kicks before a frame is drawn, and it cuts a camera edit against the arrangement instead of against a tempo: the camera works hard over a drop and holds back over the quiet. The export is encoded frame by frame through WebCodecs, so what you watch in the preview is what comes out of the file. What is in it: · Nine model formats plus .zip archives: .glb, .fbx, .obj, .stl, .usdz and four more. · Kicks found offline, bars and downbeats derived, the arrangement typed into intro, build, drop, bridge, break and outro. · Seven edit styles, nine camera moves, and seven timeline lanes that can be edited by hand. · A seed on every edit. The same seed makes the same file, so a re-cut after feedback changes only the note you were given. · Export at 9:16, 1:1 or 16:9, at 1080, 1440 or 4K, 60 or 120 fps. · A guided tour in ten chapters, over a song and a model it loads for you. Leaving it puts everything back the way you had it. Both files stay in the browser. That started as a privacy nicety and turned out to be the reason people are interested: if the thing being filmed has not shipped yet, a tool that uploads it is not usable at any price. Today it is free and that is the only plan there is: eight worlds including the visualizer, 1080p at 60, three clips a day up to three minutes, with the Drift Cut mark on the export. An account is needed to export one. Coming: paid plans that raise those numbers. Built on DriftEngine, which I also wrote.
