DotPeek is a private, intelligent image explorer for macOS. Search folders by text, meaning, or visual appearance; find near-duplicates; translate screenshots and comics in place; extract text, tables, and objects; and hear recognized text aloud. Built with Apple’s on-device technologies, everything stays on your Mac—no uploads, accounts, or tracking.

I built DotPeek because image folders often contain valuable information, but Finder can only see filenames—not what’s actually inside each image.
DotPeek is a native, intelligent image explorer for macOS. You can search images by exact text, meaning, or visual appearance; find near-duplicates; translate screenshots and comics in place—including vertical Japanese; extract text, tables, and objects; and hear recognized text read aloud.
It uses Apple’s on-device technologies, so your images and recognized text never leave your Mac. There are no accounts, uploads, analytics, or tracking.
I’d love to hear how you manage your screenshots and image collections today—and which DotPeek workflow is most useful to you. Thanks for taking a look!
P.S. To celebrate the Product Hunt launch, DotPeek is available for US$12.99—normally US$17.99—through August 31, 2026.
