Hi Product Hunt! I'm Kai, a musician. I made DOT for something that kept bugging me: I'd hear something good on my Mac (a few seconds of a video, a sound in a preset demo, a chord change in a friend's session) and have no quick way to keep it. By the time I'd set up BlackHole and opened a DAW, the moment was gone. So DOT is one key. Press Cmd-R and it records whatever your Mac is playing, trims it and files it in a library. If it's music, it shows the key, tempo and chords, and you can drag the clip straight into your DAW or export the chords as MIDI.
