Doppelgone finds exact copies, lookalikes and bursts in Google Photos, iCloud Photos, on Windows, Mac, Android and iPhone. It keeps the best shot of each set, you approve every clean-up, and removed photos wait 30 days. Your photos never leave your device.

Hi Product Hunt š I'm Juan, the developer of Doppelgone, from South Africa.
It started with my own Google Photos: the same picture five times over (backed up twice, saved from a chat, a burst of ten), and a "storage full" email every few weeks. Neither Google Photos nor iCloud has a real duplicate finder for the cloud library, so I made one.
How it works:
⢠Scan: it groups exact copies, lookalikes and bursts.
⢠Review: in every set it suggests the best shot (eyes open, sharp, well lit) and tells you why. Tap any photo to keep it instead.
⢠Clean up: only what you approve moves to your own trash (Google Photos' trash, iCloud's Recently Deleted, the Recycle Bin, or the phone's Trash), where it waits 30 days. One-click undo.
Your photos never leave your device. Favourites, videos and photos shared with you are never touched.
It runs where your photos are: a Chrome extension for Google Photos and iCloud Photos, apps for Windows and Mac, and apps for Android and iPhone.
Pricing is simple: scan everything and clean up 200 photos free. Pro is one payment of $9.99 for unlimited clean-ups on up to 3 libraries, no subscription. (On iPhone and Android it's an in-app purchase at the store's price.)
MakeUseOf wrote about it last month ("It's about time somebody made a specific, user-controlled tool"): https://www.makeuseof.com/google-photos-most-annoying-issue-finally-has-a-fix/
I'd love your honest feedback, especially on the review screen and anything that felt unclear. I'm here all day to answer questions.
