Doorman reads notification metadata on your phone and reports signal rate: the share of an app's notifications you actually open. The free half gives you that number per app, a bill ranking the worst offenders, and a chart of when they arrive. The paid tier holds the noisy ones at the door and delivers them together on an interval you pick. Verification codes, calls, alarms and messages are never held. It all runs on the device, nothing is uploaded, and there is no accessibility service.

Doorman started with one question: which apps am I actually reading, and which ones only interrupt me? Android already knows. It reports when a notification was posted and how it went away, including whether it was opened or swiped. Doorman turns that into one number per app, the share of its notifications you open, and shows the worst offenders first. On the test phone one news app posted 209 notifications in a week and none of them were opened. The free half measures. The paid tier holds the apps you switch on and hands them over in a digest on your interval. Verification codes, calls, alarms and messages are never held, because delaying a two factor code is the worst thing this app could do. Everything runs on the phone. No account, no server, no accessibility service, and no reading of message bodies. I have been building it in public every day and would rather hear where it is wrong than where it is nice.

Doorman reports signal rate for each app on your phone: the share of its notifications you actually open. Android reports whether a notification was opened or swiped away, so the number comes from your own behaviour rather than a guess.

On the test phone one news app posted 209 notifications in a week and none of them were opened.
