There was a day in September that I read 1,148 posts on X (in one day). I know because I had a counter running, and I had bought a dumb phone (Balance Phone, you should check them out) to stop doomscrolling on mobile, so the habit just moved to my browser.
So I built doomscroll.fyi, you set a daily time budget across X, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube and Substack. The longer you scroll the redder the page gets, until you can barely read it. Nothing gets blocked but you become progressively aware of frying your brain. Blockers never worked for me (I would uninstall them by lunch). With this the idea is that you can't pretend you're not scrolling anymore.
Two little product details I like most:
