Donate a handmade brush stroke to a shared collection, then turn strokes from different people into unexpected collaborative art. Choose colors, fading, tapering and paint-like tone variation, collect your favorite results in a 4×4 grid, and download high-resolution 4000×4000 artwork.

I wanted to see what would happen if strangers each donated one small piece (a brush stroke) of a painting.
Every brush stroke in the collection was drawn by a real person. You can combine them into artworks that nobody planned and nobody could have made alone. Some results are beautiful. Some are chaotic. But every mark came from someone.
Everything is free to use. If you have a few seconds, donate one stroke and become part of the collection.
Stroke Credits feature added (default toggled on).
PNG download will include it
4000x4000 dl will also include it
We have 255 strokes now.
2 from a friend
1 from a stranger
and the rest are mine.
Things become more interest when we have larger collection of strokes.
Comes the concept of HYBRID STROKE that would be a 50% morph (halfway) of one stroke and another in any unique pair of strokes.
so 255 strokes will give us 255 choose 2 (or 32,385) hybrid strokes.
That's a great number, things will get interesting with that number of strokes.
Also means that each donated stroke is not just a single stroke it pairs with existing number of strokes to create that many new hybrid strokes. So at 255 strokes, the next donate stroke will actually give us 1 stroke + 255 hybrid strokes. That's so exciting.
Added slider to control the chance of using a hybrid stroke instead of an original stroke. and credits are given as pairs of donators for hybrid strokes.
Here's an example generation of using 100% hybrid strokes.
How does the platform actually handle ownership and credit when strokes from different people get blended into one final piece?
@larocakl47618 When people donate strokes, they going into public domain. And the art composed from them are free for anyone to use for any purpose. I want it to be something that anyone can just doodle for fun to contribute to the freedom of public domain. Other than the View Strokes page, where you enter optional name/nick name and an optional note, there is no other credit.
@larocakl47618 I was thinking I could add a text section that credit all the strokes used for the current piece....
like for example it could list like this
Credits
Anonymous - 80 strokes
Tim - 1 stroke
What do you think?
@larocakl47618 Stroke Credits for generated piece section added!
@larocakl47618 How's this option show printable credits section as part of PNG and 4000x4000 download?
the tapering and ink density variation feel incredibly organic in those previews, like watching someone actually sweep a brush. the 4x4 framing choice really earns its keep too.
@ayeakbaoluiq66 The goal is to look more analog while being digital :D Thanks for your comment
@ayeakbaoluiq66 which makes me think maybe I'll add a later version to do variation toggle option in tapering like as if someone is applying more pressure at some parts heavier during long strokes rather than constant heavy to light pressure right now. It'll be an option so it can be on/off. yeah I'll go do that now.
@ayeakbaoluiq66 ok added varying tapering option and while i was at it added wet surface option too so that strokes would smear colors that's already there
The fading and tapering options make each stroke feel genuinely hand-painted instead of mechanical, which is a surprisingly thoughtful detail for something this simple. Love how clean the 4×4 grid layout comes out at full resolution.
@kerimkorkaoqwb Thank you, first go didn't have tapering fading and tone difference. each was added on as i tested with many results then I thought to add them in (well ChatGPT did all the work) but I made it work until I was happy :D
The way each stroke blends with others feels really organic, like real paint layered on canvas. Loved arranging my favorites into a 4x4 grid and pulling down the high-res version to print.
@cemrebfmt Thank you for your comment! I thought I would add a stroke to mark this comment.
@cemrebfmt just an excuse now to use new feature added (Feature this stroke when viewing list of donated strokes).
Tried it for a few minutes and the color blending actually feels like real paint rather than digital fill. The 4×4 grid view makes it easy to spot which strokes from strangers complement yours.
@fatih928031 Thanks for trying :)
As I was adding more strokes, I thought hey what if I want to feature a stroke (front and centered in original color).
Well now while viewing strokes you can click a link "Feature this stroke" and it'll take you to generate page. Where you can play with generation while keeping the Featured Stroke constant.
