Just launched this. I'm happy to answer any questions :)

Pretty interesting - I'm certainly one who has jumped the gun a few times and have extra domains. What's the advantage to this over existing marketings like Flippa or Sedo?

@adamscochran Thanks for writing in! The main difference between DomainGuild and Flippa is that DomainGuild isn’t an auction. It's essentially a communication tool for entrepreneurs. The barrier to posting is very low (you don’t have to specify a price, for example), and the goal is to get a conversation started between entrepreneurs who are interested in selling and buying a specific domain. The second difference is the domains on DomainGuild are curated, so the list is higher quality. This ensures that the demand side sticks around. It’s a community of people who keep an eye out for domains for their own projects. To give you some background, DomainGuild was born out of an experience I had with a domain that I sold. I had launched a project called Washboard, and it got some press. In the end, I ended up having to shut it down for various reasons. After shutting it down, a guy that was working on a project reached out to me and asked if I was interested in selling the domain. I wasn’t planning on selling it, but his project sounded interesting, and we settled on a good price. It was an amazing experience, and a far cry from any other experience I’ve had with selling a domain, e.g. on Sedo, which to me is such an impersonal and robotic experience. I realized that I have a fairly long list of domains that I’m not desperate to sell, but am willing to see if people are interested in buying them for their own projects. My friends do too, so I think I may have something here.
