Development Inspiration Our team are big fans of Sudoku puzzle games. We noticed classic number Sudoku features dull visuals and a steep learning curve, making it tedious for casual players. Meanwhile, existing color-block numberless puzzle games lack warm, adorable pet-themed designs, which inspired us to create Dogdoku with a lovely puppy core concept. Pain Points We Aim to Solve Classic Sudoku is packed with confusing digits that intimidate new players. Our game replaces numbers with cute puppy icons to lower entry barriers. Most puzzle games require an internet connection and lengthy play sessions, failing to fit fragmented downtime such as commutes or waiting in lines. Simple puzzle-only gameplay offers no long-term motivation, causing players to drop out quickly after clearing all levels. Evolution of Our Development Process We started with a basic prototype featuring only core puzzle grids. Before launch, we added progressive difficulty levels, offline gameplay and a hint system. Later, we rolled out a paintbrush collection mechanic to unlock exclusive puppy illustrations, blending logical deduction with collection fun. We also streamlined lightweight controls for quick mobile play sessions.

This looks like a cozy way to wind down, and I love the no-guess rule. One idea: add a "puppy pedigree" mode where each puzzle uses a different dog breed theme with breed facts tucked into the solved grid, giving a small learning payoff for completing harder boards.
