I was mildly aware of HIPPA (patient confidentiality) enough to know information can't just live anywhere. But the fact that it causes unnecessary deaths and further damage to patients b/c results don't make their way to the next doctor fast enough is crazy (especially during a time where data has the ability to travel in real-time). God bless the people that jumped through hoops to make this complaint and available to doctors.

Tools for better communication between care settings and providers in a must to improve patient care and outcomes but adoption is a huge challenge. The space is fragmented. A better approach may be a compliant protocol that could work with HL7 which is internationally used to send all sorts of data, so this communication channel could be more widely spread. Good luck.

My $.02: First, it'd be cool to have docs chime in here. Because what I'm about to write is just what docs usually seem to say to me. I work at a healthcare company but I'm not a doctor, so I can't speak on behalf of them. Collaborative care platforms are all awesome in intent. But they're a dime a dozen at this point and most seem to be failing. They all seem to suffer from the same problem eventually: they can't get enough integrations with EMRs, and doctors don't want to add even more tools into their already-jampacked workflow. They spent $100MM on their EMRs, so they want to use those EMRs. Big ups to Docspera for making a run at this. Another company, Yosko, was just in our Techstars class doing something similar: http://www.yosko.com/ I guess really what I'm saying is: for most products on PH, we the users of PH are also potential users of the linked product. But with Docspera, and really any product not made for techy product people, it's always great to hear from actual potential customers of those products. It helps PH regulars get to know other industries and more importantly better informs the conversation (not that I don't like seeing PH regulars chiming in too, but we aren't doctors after all!).
