Hello ProductHunt 👋 I'm excited to launch Dockside app for macOS, I am Praj, the developer of this lightweight file shelf app for macOS. It sits discreetly next to the Dock one on each side adapting to the available space, giving you quick and easy access to frequently used items without cluttering your workspace. With Dockside, you can create quick notes, manage recent screenshots, and access your downloads—all in one simple, intuitive space. Dockside is always available when you need it, automatically fading out when you don't, keeping the Dock space clear, helping you stay focused. You can try Dockside with a 14-day free trial to experience it firsthand before making a decision. If you find it useful, you can get a lifetime license for just $5.99 (for up-to 3-devices), which includes lifetime updates and support. This one-time fee helps keep this project going—there will be no subscriptions, ever, just like in the good old days of Mac apps when you paid once and owned it for life, just the way I liked it myself. Works with macOS 13.0+ (Ventura and above) and with both Intel and M-series Macs. Let me know what you think—I’m here to answer any questions! Praj

I love how many options it has out of the gate. GOOD options, like the ability to move files and folders directly instead of just symlinks. This is very thought out. After using this app, I'm certain that I'll purchase it after the trial. Great job, @prajwalshettyd!

Big congrats to the Dockside team on today's launch! I'm loving the simplicity of having a 'file shelf' right next to my Dock - so convenient! Quick question: Are there plans to allow customizable shortcuts for frequently used apps within Dockside, or is it primarily for files and notes for now?
Prajwal Shetty
@ihuzaifashoukat Dockside can even hold your favourite apps too :) just drag them to the files area. Dockside by default just holds the reference/shortcut to the item, so this will be too. Let me know if I misunderstood your ask. Thank you !! 🙏🏽
