Dockey makes changing some of the more advanced Dock preferences as easy as clicking a button. With integrated preview, you can see how it would look and feel like and save changes you're happy with the result.
I know these settings could be done quickly in the terminal but this little app wraps a beautiful interface around it. Great job.
I've changed my dock settings to auto-hide with no animations and instant display. This'll probably save me a minute of my life every day. Doesn't seem like much but that's nearly 6 hours a year. Or the equivalent of one season of Silicon Valley.
Hey Hunters 😽
I don't know about you, but I like to tinker with my mac's settings and since the Dock always seemed kinda slow to me, I've tried to make it a bit faster and snappier.
The thing is, you can only do that from the Terminal and since not everybody is comfortable with doing things there I thought I would make an app around it and make it easier so even non-technical people can change these settings.
The app itself is not something you'll use every day or even regularly, you'll set it up once and forget about it, but it was a fun little project to work on so I hope you'll find it useful 😉
Cheers,
Igor ✌️
This thing broke my doc. I installed, tried it, than deleted it. And now my doc is stock, does not open when I hover. And reinstalled it bu still the same. And when I downloaded google chrome asked me if I should open this bc it was flagged as a dangerous file, but I opened it anyways.
@ardjanshero hmm...it's implemented that something like that shouldn't have happened, I'm so sorry it did! What version of macOS are you running? Can you reach out on Twitter or Email so we can resolve the issue and get your dock back and running?
Regarding the Chrome flag...yeah, Chrome doesn't like people downloading applications if it hasn't yet crawled the domain to flag it safe, so until then, there will always be this warning. I've submitted the domain and application to them though, so maybe they'll crawl it in the immediate future, but I'm sure this will take more than that 🙃
I was aware you could do this using terminal commands, but I could never be bothered to change it so I just kept the dock. This was exactly what I needed to see if I could go full-time without the dock and have that coveted extra screen real estate. However, I think this should be like a £0.99p app, I feel bad when someone creates this and I get to use it for free.
Pros:
WYSIWYG, great interface, am now converted dockless user
