Hi everyone! 👋 The idea for Docket Dictionary came from conversations with law students who often mentioned that legal terminology slows them down while reading cases or studying. Most existing legal dictionaries are either very dense, written in complex language, or not easily accessible when you just want a quick explanation. So I started building a simple tool that explains legal terms in clear, plain language so students can quickly understand concepts without breaking their flow of study. The goal wasn’t to replace traditional legal dictionaries, but to make legal terminology more approachable for students who are just starting out. This is still an early version, and I’m continuing to expand the term database and improve explanations based on feedback.
