Hey, I’m Jack. I realized that I have collected a lot of data breaches over time and wanted the average person to have the ability to know what a hacker knows about them. So, instead of hacking and dissecting software, I decided to build one for a change.

@rojawa I just sent an email to you through the email address you have listed in your website "hello@mg.dohackersknow.me", and it was immediately returned as not working. Is this normal? I hope not, as I just bought the Pro User account :-/

@laurencoral I will implement a changelog. But E-Mail would be an option too, but I would have to implement an Opt in first. 👍

@rojawa It would be nice to also have an alert service where you get an email if new data is available. Because this can be rather complex, an easier feature would be a reminder. e.g. I set it up every month or every quarter so you send me via email a short reminder to check for new data. More feedback: 1. I would improve the search messages if the search gives no result. e.g. I added my phone number and I get no results and no messages. I should see something like "no result found" 2. allowing to send the report to ANY email is very dangerous and could result in abuse. Anyone can send reports to anyone, and this can be seen as a threat. I would JUST allow the reports to be sent to the email the user signed up to. Or if you want allow to send reports to family or colleagues (so your product gets more visibility) fine, but then you should improve the transactional email text and at the very top write "email@email.email" has sent you the following report" where "email@email.email" is the email address of your verified users. Because your verified users are also paid users (with a credit card), this will prevent (or limit to almos zero) abuse or threats. My two cents

@rojawa Doesn't this mean that my exposed data now is also very accessible to non hackers and everyone can easily look it up? I can look up exposed data on anyone I want if I have their email?

So you are telling me that through this platform, I can access the usernames and password (and perhaps social security number and more) of anyone as long as I know their email and full name? Sounds like this just makes any average Joe a hacker of sorts. How do you ensure fair use? As in ensure that users only look up their own data and not of others.

@ugo_alves Hey Hugo, valid question. HIBP, only allows for mail search. I allow Name and phone number as well. Furthermore are you able to see what’s in the leak, and not only who did it. 🙌🤗

I was surprised when i found out that my details were leaked on 5 different instances even though I believe I am doing a good job of hiding my identity online (except over here). One change you could probably make is that I could probably see one of the 5 data leaks (in my case) for free and only once per email

@glen_dsouza_1 That’s an interesting Idea, I would maybe not display all the information but at least some of it with parts being redacted by **** and the name do the data leak source. I.E Dropbox. 🙌

@memphys_sk Yes!! It always displays the source of the Leak. Exceptions are “Collections”. This is when the data was dumped in a bigger Dataleak and no origin is known. 👋
